The Journey of the Eagle

The Eagle Foundation was founded in 2007 and registered with the Government of Ghana as a non-governmental organization in 2009 by native Ghanaian Daniel Nii- Adom Odonkor. While studying at the university three female friends decided to defer their computer science and management course and take up a course in business, all effort to help them study and succeed in the computer science field failed, this inspired Daniel instantly and caused him to take first steps empower others through computer training at the grassroots level. He began researching and decided to promote Information Communication Technology in schools, He came up with numerous ICT programs that includes a girls in tech camp, rural kids in technology training programs and Webykids. 

    While providing training to undeserved communities, his passion for helping others grew stronger, he decided to take up part time jobs to offer especially the less privileged children especially girl’s scholarship and educational support. His passion and commitment inspired others to follow his vision by serving as the first board of directors of The Eagle Foundation including: Ruth Osei, Agnes Nortey, Paul Abezi, Martin Okio, Sarah Wader and others. Following the establishment of the board TEF registered with the government of Ghana as a non-governmental organization since our founding we have supported over 10,000 underprivileged children in Ghana and have supported over 20 youth foundations in Africa.

The Executive Board 

A six member governing board of directors comprised of beneficiaries of programs, professional NGO Consultants, community residents, and international professionals from the United States and Ghana who care and our committed deeply to the development of Africa.

The Executive Director carries out the day to day task of program planning tasks, communication, community outreach, resource development, and facilitates the foundation's project .

Daniel Nii Adom Odonkor

Founder and Ceo

He founded the Eagle Foundation in 2007,He as supported the   foundations both in funding and volunteering, his story continuous to  inspired lots of youth in Ghana and Africa, He as supported over 100 youth to be actively engaged in community service and volunteering across  Africa.He is a member of ICANN, ISOC Ghana chapter,Member YALI RC Accra Cohort 1, member international youth council(UN) YALI NETWORK member AYDI member rand other international professional bodies, He has received lots nominations and awards for his hard work and passion for supporting the underprivileged in Ghana and Africa.He is also a social Entrepreneur with two setups in Ghana


Tony Smith 

Board member and chair 

Tony Smith is the founder and former executive director of the New Start Project, to stabilize and mobilize returning citizens from incarceration towards successful re-entry. He currently serves on the Haymarket Peoples Fund board. He has served as a board member of the Criminal Justice Policy Coalition, a mentor of Men of Color/Men of Action. He is the former chairmen of the Black Directors Network, and a member of End Mass Incarceration Together.

Issah Alassani

Board member & vice Chair -(community rep)

He is a Board member and beneficiary of the Foundation's educational  scholarship fund,
He serves as  a youth adviser for numerous youth empowerment programs, a peer educator on internet safety, Sexual health and reproductive rights,Climate change organizer for Accra and a youth  ICT officer at Surffin Ghana. He has  attend numerous training's organized by the Eagle Foundation and also served as a peace ambassador for the Eagle Foundation in 2012, 

Ruth Nana Ama Osei Apraku

Co-founder Rural Kids Tech/ Board member 

She is the co founder of Rural kids in Africa, she is a mentor and an active  patron for the Girls Go Digital projects, she is always passionate about girls and women, Her active role in the foundation has enable the foundation to achieve lots of success, She is a member of the Associate of Business Executive (United kingdom) She is also a successful business woman. 

Lydia Addison  

Board member 

She is the founder of Eagle Cave Foundation ,Lydia has supported numerous Community based organizations across rural Ghana, She is celebrated for her youth community initiatives and achievements,Based on her extensive field work in the Humanitarian sector , she was offer  the opportunity to attend and facilitator in numerous youth empowerment camps across Ghana.

Girls Go Digital Ambassadort

The Girls Go Digital Ambassador are young feemale girls aged between 15 to 20 years, These young girls  serve as role models in their communtes by Promoting the active role of young girls in community participation and also in  Science, techonolgy , Engineering and Maths (STEM) education.
Our goal for 2017  is to support these young Ambassadors with mini grants to support their community youth empowerment projects across Ghana.

Matilda Garba 

Board Member 

She is the founder and Ceo of Voices Foundation, a non-governmental organization based in Ghana and Nigeria. She holds a Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from the Sikkim Manipal University
She is also freelancer. Matilda as volunteered for lots of  charity Foundation in Nigeria and Ghana. Due to her active role and dedication, some of these foundation have recommended and nominated her for community prize awards. ,


What began as a young man's drive to help people, especially the less privileged, children and women in society grew quickly into a foundation committed to helping people realize their full potential.        
His hard work,dedication and constant passion to helping create a better world for all, has won the Foundation numerous international awards and nominations over the years, In 2015 the founder was short-listed for the Ghana-Uk Based Achievement awards 2015 -(humanitarian category) and also a nominee for the most prestigious African award .The Future Awards Africa, has been described by the World Bank as “The Nobel Prize for young Africans” and FORBES International as the “most important youth awards”, is targeted at recognizing young Africans doing incredible work in various fields; with 11 categories including the ultimate prize.
Mr. Daniel N. A Odonkor also serves as a board chairman,technical adviser, mentor and Africa youth Ambassador for numerous youth led organizations across Africa.
He serves as a #we Social media Ambassador for Ghana's election 2016, awarded the Eagle of the Year award 2016.   
Mr. Daniel N A Odonkor was selected  as part of the cohort 1 participants in the Young Africa Leadership Initiative Training programme for 13 weeks - A president Obama Initiative. YALI
He is a member of ICANN, ISO Ghana chapter,Alumini YALI, member international youth council under (United  Nations)  
He has attended numerous local and international youth empowerment conferences,either as a guest speaker or special guest in the United kingdom, Kenya,Nigeria etc...)
